Hi everyone! Thanks for visiting my site, The Fit Cookie. I am a 26-year-old health and fitness enthusiast on a mission to educate others on ways to live a long and healthy life. My hope for this blog is to inspire others to take control of their wellbeing while also providing a place to swap and share stories, recipes and fitness tips.
Health and fitness play a very crucial role in my daily life and I am currently studying to become a Registered Dietitian and Certified Personal Trainer. With all the information floating around out there about diet and fitness, it’s easy to assume that everyone knows how to practice a healthy lifestyle. But the more conversations I have had with people, the more I have realized how little most people really know. This is something I hope to change once I become an RD.
I have not always had an interest in cooking (or eating healthy for that matter), but as a kid I was plagued with many food allergies which forced me to learn about the things I was eating. And while I will not claim to be any sort of a culinary genius or nutrition and fitness expert, I am committed to advancing my skills and knowledge and educating others along the way. I do not believe in diets, cleanses or detoxes; I only follow what I know works which is everything in moderation. So yes, you can have chocolate cake for dessert once in awhile as long as you are active and eat healthy most of the time.
I am always looking for new recipes to try out so please feel free to share them on my site and I would also love any feedback or cooking advice you have. And while I am not a doctor or an RD (yet) if you have any nutrition or exercise questions please don’t hesitate to shoot them my way. I hope The Fit Cookie provides you with the information you need to take better care of yourselves and have fun along the way because in the end, if you are good to your body, your body will be good to you.
